Mountaintop Harvest: Connecting the Past with the Present
Fall Festivals in Arkansas
SAVE THE DATE: September 18, 2010
While planning your autumn activities, make plans to attend an event that promises to be one of the top new fall festivals in Arkansas, set to be held on Petit Jean Mountain! Visit the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute’s Heritage Farmstead and witness life on the farm as part of Mountaintop Harvest: Connecting the Past with the Present.
Through demonstrations of traditional farming practices, the entire family can experience first-hand what it’s like to make apple butter over an open fire, press sorghum with a horse-drawn mill, churn butter, dig peanuts and turn them into peanut butter, pick cotton, and see a historical smokehouse in action.
At this Arkansas fall festival, different workshops will show why growing and harvesting your own food does not have to be a thing of the past.
