Kenneth W. Rose

Ken Rose is the Associate Director of Research and Education at the Rockefeller Archive Center in Sleepy Hollow, New York, where he has worked since July 1987. He received his Ph.D. in American Studies in 1988 from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, the city where John D. Rockefeller began his business career. Ken also served as the senior editorial assistant for the first edition of  The Encyclopedia of Cleveland History (1987).

Since joining the Archive Center, he has been responsible for the Center’s outreach activities and has written articles on the Rockefeller family and Rockefeller philanthropy for various journals, reference volumes and conferences. He also has contributed to the American National Biography, the Dictionary of Virginia Biography, and the historical encyclopedias for New York City, New Jersey, and the Midwest.  During the 1998-1999 academic year, he served as a Fulbright Senior Lecturer at Ege University in Izmir, Turkey.
